About Jazz Workshops Productions
In 1992 Howard Rees and Dr. Barry Harris formed a partnership to document the maestro’s legendary, world renown methodologies. This resulted in the 3-part Barry Harris Workshop Video series.
This achievement marked the first complete recording of what had to that point in time been an oral tradition. Giving students of jazz all over the world access to the keys with which to unlock the language and art of modern jazz.
The Barry Harris Workshop Video series is now used by musicians and jazz colleges in countries all over the world. The series has also been met with much critical acclaim. It’s value has perhaps best summed up by another legendary pianist – Tommy Flanagan – who dubbed it “The Bebop Bible”.
In 2002, Jazzworkshop Productions was formed to document, publish and distribute the teaching methodologies of Barry Harris.
